Drinking margaritas and eating chips in the sunshine. What could be better! Wish it was closer so we could go more often.

My sister has been raving about this place for almost a year now and we finally Decided to give it a shot. They lived up to all the expectations with service, food and the ambiance. Service was fast, we were seated right away and our waitress within minutes was there to get our order for drinks. Food was phenomenal we got the el trio for appetizer, chicken adobe bowel and dorados and for dessert we had flan. They have a beautiful patio outside where you can sit and enjoy your food but the wait was a bit long so we decided to sit inside. Great service and phenomenal food.

Stumbled upon this gem while walking on Sunday afternoon. It is off the main street in Plymouth downtown. Brightly lit with chic decor and bar showcasing any kind of tequila your heart desires. They also have outside patio that was all busy at the time. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable gave recommendations on the food and choices of beverage. We opted out for Al Pastor tacos, Wet burrito and street corn all of the above was delicious. Will definitely come back to try more things.

Visited for lunch the other day with a friend. We started with the trio and the salsa was delicious but slightly hit, the queso was delicious, and the chips were clearly made in house. They were very good. I opted for the salad which was large and packed full of goodness. I asked for a side of pico. The salad and splitting the trio and a glass of ice water came to $39 (the pico was $1.50) and that is a little excessive to me for a weekday lunch. I wouldn't go back regularly for that reason even though I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ate.

Food/value: Lots of selections, everything we saw coming out of kitchen looked great. I had chicken wet burrito, friend had fish taco. Both great. Mine was so big for $17 that I had to take half home and I was hungry!! Their salsa was great also - it was thick with just the right amt of kick. Their drinks are pricey, but my la pina was sooo good. Service: great. She was very nice. Ambiance: It could go either way...fun to slightly romantic. THey also have an outdoor area.

We ordered tacos and quesadillas. Non veg - Ordered Chicken Tinga, Al Pastor (this was really nice) and Pollo Asado. Shrimp quesadilla tasted good but was too oily. Veg - Avacado tacos and corn quesadilla were good. They have limited veg options though. Ambiance - Upscale place. Service was good. Parking - Available

I've heard about this place for a while. We ordered: El Trio: Crispy, not too salty and not too greasy tortilla chips with fresh chunky guac, liquidy creamy queso and salsa. La Pina Margarita: spicy spicy! I usually order mild in general, but Barrio's spice level isn't subtle. It's a punch in your throat. A delicious punch to the tastebuds though. Wouldn't recommend if you can't handle medium spice. Palomita: refreshing blast to summer if you like grapefruit. Didn't think grapefruit and tequila could go well together but damn, they can get married and have beautiful margarita babies together. As for the food? We had the barbacoa and mahi mahi tacos. These dinky little standard tacos were delicious. Out of the two? Barbacoa takes the cake. Mahi Mahi was fresh but the barbacoa had way more flavor. I would come back just to eat those and maybe make a combination to try other flavors. My recommendation is to go with friends and order a bunch of tacos and swap. The tacos de casa can't be swapped in a single order but if you're with friends you can obey their guidelines and still break the rules once everything is set on your tables.

I've reviewed Barrios before, but in this review I want to highlight two of their specials. Both the Crab Rangoon Empanadas and the Pork Belly Tacos were excellent. The Crab Rangoon Empanadas were spicy, even without the pickled jalapeños on top. The filling tasted way more of crab then your typical Chinese restaurant rangoon. I wish they would add these to the regular menu. I'm a big fan of pork belly, and thought the Pork Belly Tacos were really good. The pork itself was perfectly tender, and was very rich. I wasn't a fan of the pickled onions, but those were easily picked off. I would order these again.
